PRINCIPLES OF ART DIRECTION
ABOUT THIS COURSE
You will learn the fundamental Art Direction skills. This will include the principles of visual communication, semiotics and the significance of analyzing trends and campaign case studies. You will continue with an exercise in idea generation and development by making your own concept board. This will form the creative basis, from which you will successfully design and evaluate a campaign.
By undertaking practical exercises you will learn how to create concepts for photo-shoots and TV adverts. With expert advice and guidance from your tutors, you will receive valuable advice about working as a professional Art Director and discuss the ways in which the role changes across a variety of creative industries.
Understand the role of an Art Director, see their role in the design industry, and what part they play within a creative team. How to analyze a client’s brief using a case study and learn how to ask the right questions to steer your research. Next, map out your inspiration with your mood board, exploring the visual language and message you want to express using Linus’ mood board framework.
